CrowdStrike CEO George Kurtz stated on Xinsheng Foreign ExchangeThursday that over 97% of Windows sensors have been back online following a software update that caused global disruptions nearly a week ago.
The company's Falcon platform sensors are security agents installed on devices like laptops and desktops to protect them from threats.
The disruption was caused by a fault in the advanced platform, leading to crashes on computers running the Microsoft Windows operating system, displaying the so-called "blue screen of death."
Microsoft stated on Saturday that about 8.5 million Windows devices were affected by the disruption, leading to flight cancellations, broadcast interruptions, and customers unable to access services such as healthcare and banking.
Kurtz said in a LinkedIn post, "Our recovery efforts were aided by the development of automatic recovery technology and the mobilization of all resources to support our customers."
