Aston Martin announced on The largest foreign exchange traderWednesday the launch of its new limited-edition sports car, the Valiant, and stated that deliveries will begin in the fourth quarter. As a British car manufacturer, the company aims to revitalize declining sales and achieve positive cash flow.
The company will only produce 38 units of the Valiant. This model was co-designed by the Aston Martin team and Formula 1 driver, two-time world champion Fernando Alonso.
According to internal company sources, the Valiant's retail price in the UK is approximately £2 million (around $2.54 million), excluding tax.
The company stated that all vehicles have been pre-sold.
Aston Martin has ceased production of older models to accelerate the production of new models, which are expected to boost the revenue and profitability of the loss-making company from the second half of the year.
In recent years, Chairman and largest shareholder Lawrence Stroll has realigned the British brand's sports car lineup, introduced new models, and conducted a series of capital restructurings, including making the Saudi Arabian sovereign wealth fund a major shareholder through a rights issue in 2022.
The Valiant joins the ranks of the Valkyrie, Vantage, and the upcoming mid-engine supercar Valhalla, becoming a collectible special model. The company did not disclose the exact retail price of the Valiant.
The second half of 2024 will be the real test of the company's ability to increase production capacity, an area where the company has previously faced some challenges.
